Vision Statement of the Three Forks Heritage Alliance

The document linked above was hand delivered to Vernon Jones and John Gurbal on April 8, 2008.
It contains specific ideas that the THREE Forks Heritage Alliance would like to see incorporated
in the future development of Mason Mill Park. If your vision is similar to ours this one, then please
support our effort to modify the actions of Dekalb County to be in agreement with this document.

Dekalb County is spending close to 2 million dollars of your money on this un-needed and destructive
project while refusing to provide pay increases to the police and fire departments.
Dekalb county is willing to disregard many of their own laws to allow this project to continue.
Dekalb County ordered PATH to build this project based on an illegal contract,
written without the required bidding or the required approval of the BOC.
Dekalb County is using their own legal department and courts to prevent citizen's efforts to enforce Dekalb's codes.
Dekalb County's Development Department has told PATH and their contractors to ignore decisions
of the Dekalb County Zoning Board of Appeals.

May 14 - Dekalb County Zoning Board of Appeals issues order halting all construction on the South Peachtree Creek Trail until all required permits have been applied for and received.
April 14 - EPD finds violations on trail site - PATH consents to voluntary shutdown
April 14 - Judge Adams denies TRO to halt trail construction
April 9 - PATH subcontractors continue to work on SPCT in defiance of ZBA ruling.

April 9 - Dekalb County Zoning Board of Appeals issues order halting all construction on the South Peachtree Creek Trail until an appeal is heard on May 14, 2008.
April 7 - PATH contractors move back into Mason Mill Park and begin building construction access road.
April 2 - Judge Adams denies a new Temporary Restraining Order. Tree cutting is expected to resume April 3 or 4.
March 20 - Dekalb county rescinds the permits for the trail claiming that they don't NEED a permit to do this project.
